So along with a new Macbook Pro that came with Parallels Desktop 9, I was thinking woo who, I can run window programs and download games that are solely for windows. To my surprise, I seem to have to purchase a copy of Windows OS to accompany the "purchase" of parallels. (mind you it was free though)
Is this true? Do I in fact have to get a Windows OS in order to be able to just download games from steam or the internet that are for windows only?
Or am I just worrying about nothing and should I continue on with my life as if I'm not having some kind of catastrophic realization that Macs are simply not good (I already knew they were rather expensive for some reason or another) and I will simply have to keep pouring money into it just to get what Bootcamp could have done for me at half the price? (even though I didn't pay a cent for Parallels)

This isn't a rant I just would like some insight from the gaming community that may have already been through this.

-Thanks in advance

LOL ummm ok Yes you need a copy of Windows to put in Parellels to do this the legal way. Buuut you cannot play games on a virtual computer the hardware just doesnt pass through at full speed yet and last I heard only DX 9 got hardware acceleration.. I might be better now I have not tried in a few years. If anyone knows better please comment.
