I got a Samsung 840 EVO (7mm) SSD a couple months ago. I realized they did NOT include the mounting screws after I received it. Samsung didn't even include the specifications for the screws required to mount drive in the instructions.

The funny part was when I read Help With My Samsung 840 Pro SSD (Mounting). I bought some M2 x 3mm laptop screws and they are way too small.

I also found What size are the Samsung 840 Pro SSD mounting screws? I have no idea how to find the screws mentioned here. I am tired of ordering the wrong kind of screws.

Please help me get the right screws so I can use the SSD.

UPDATE: Thanks to Palorim's advice, I ordered some (M3x6mm Zinc Flat Head Machine Screw) from http://www.laptopscrews.com.

Solution
They use the same screws a regular HDD would use, idk why ppl think the SSD uses a different screws.

But here you go: M3x 0.5P THD Depth 3.5mm MIN

Thank you, Palorim12. The first time I read your post, I did NOT understand what you were trying to tell me (I can be dense at times). Sorry about the quick reply b/c I had no idea what I was talking about.

Thanks to your advice, I ordered some (M3x6mm Zinc Flat Head Machine Screw) from http://www.laptopscrews.com.

The screws that I used to mount the Mechanical HDDs are (Machine screws - phillips flat head - #6-32 x 1/4") from BoltDepot.com [These won't work for the SSD]

This is the post that suggests using "M2-3 (M2 3mm) screws" and is marked solved as the best answer here -->Help With My Samsung 840 Pro SSD (Mounting) --> These screws were way too small.

Thanks a million for having the patience to teach me something worth learning. Sorry I wasn't listening the first time you answered my question.

Sandisk SSD DOES use a different screw (mounting stud) size than that what original MacBook Pro HDD uses. (Also Seagate hybrid HDD uses same as Apple's OEM).

OEM HDD mounting screws are studs with threads into the drive with a smooth barrel beneath the head to slide into the shock protective rubber mounting. The 'stud' head is the same diameter as the barrel.

Anyone know what size for the Sandisk?
