can i use dvi dual link to vga adapter

i have amd r9 290x and it only supports hdmi and dvi dual link and my monitor only supports vga is there any possible way to connect this monitor to my amd r9 290x or i have to buy a new one ?

Then it will not work, plug and play.
The signal will be digital, and the monitor will be looking for analog.
The only way to get it to work is to get a digital to analog converter to go between the two.

I actually use this for my secondary monitor.
As long as you use the DVI plug with the analog pins, it will work no problem.
This is what the plug with the analog portion looks like.

The left side with the 4 pins in a square are what make the analog signal.

Check that all of your connections have that, and you're golden!
