So in my next build, short version, I was planning on grabbing an NZXT H440, and filling every possible fan slot with some Noctua fans and using an H100i on the top mount, you know, for fun.

Facing a dilemma - the H440 has no 5.25" bays, so a fan controller is out of the question. I need to find a way to put together a total of 7 PWM fans. Currently using an ASUS VI Formula, which if I'm right, has four PWM headers including the CPU header. Preferably, I'd love to be able to control the fans speeds/profiles through ASUS Fan Xpert.

I've already thought of a way or two do this, but my question is, what do you guys think is the best way to do it?

you could try using those splitter cables. you could connect two fans to the y splitter cable and connect them to one fan connector on your board.

When you use a y, cable does the power to each fan effectively half ?
