Question about PSU?

I currently have a CX500 thats almost 2 years old, now I had just made a thread and it was said that I would be able to run the R9 280 fine on my power supply, I'm a little weary on that. I definitely plan to purchase a new PSU but would I be able to use the 280 safely for a week or two on my aging cx500?

Yes it has enough power on the 12v + rail (38 amps) to run it till you upgrade.

It only needs 30 amps on the 12v + rail so you are safe till you upgrade .

It's not like the CX line is total crap. They just do not use as good quality of components. No guarantees but you should be fine. The CX are still far better than say... RAIDMAX!!!

I know Fractal makes very nice cases but not sure on power supplies.
