Is it ok to set 80% fan when GPU reach 70c

http://imgur.com/BDST4YN

Today I realized that somehow "Fan Speed" was turned off and today in Risen 3 in about 70% of usage I had 80c with only 40% fan which is default. Now when I set this to go all the way to the 80% temperatures are at 69/72c which is way better. I dont intend in worst case to keep this card for more then 2-3 years so is there any harm to use 80% fan at those points ? It's rarely happening mostly for new early releases.

Thanks for info.

Also when I clean up my GTX770 with compressor is there any special place or "Sensor" where I need to pay attention littlebit more ?

This is my GPU, I still didnt try to OC it due to fact that I'm afraid to increase fan speed and I'm waiting winter and lower room temperatures.

There is no harm to running your card's fan at higher speeds. But I am concerned about the temps you are getting from a twin frozr 770. I had a 680 with a twin frozr cooler design and on auto fan speeds (around 40% at worst) it got to around 65C. My 680 had god awful thermal paste application to start with and got similar results to you but I removed the cooler (without damaging the sticker) and replaced it with some spare noctua paste I had and everything has been gravy since.

Dependso on games Optimus_Toaster. For example when I play Dota 2 / CSGO or some other games I dont have more then 50c, but then suddenly when I start Dead Island from 2009 or new Risen from yesterday I have high temperatures no matter do I turn on vsync or not. GPU is old only 5 months so far. I have 5 fans in my case including intake on side near GPU with new custom filter so I dont see how would I make any problem only if its made in fabric or whatever. Games runs perfectly fine in terms of performance.
