Hey guys, I recently overclocked my CPU to 4.6GHz, but my socket temp get to 78 degrees max on Prime95. I am concerned because this is over 70 degrees. I also cannot go above stock voltages (1.375) otherwise the socket temps go over 80. The cpu itself never goes above 55-56 degrees, even on higher volts.

Does anyone know if this socket temp is alright and if I can push voltages higher to get a higher OC. My cooler is a Corsair H75 and my case is a CM HAF XB Evo with 200 mm top intake and a 120 mm push pull exhaust in the rear of the case, and 2 120mm fans in the front as intakes.

FX get higher temps than Intel. 78C on Prime 95 is OK. You should only get 60C max gaming with the H75. Leave Vcore as is.

So it'll be alright to push volts higher, or should I just leave it as is?

You got 4.6Ghz on 1.375? You got a good piece of silicon mate! I wouldnt touch it anymore, 4.6 is a good OC.

As I said "Leave Vcore as is."

I changed my 200mm fan to an exhaust and the socket cooled by 4 degrees and managed to push up to 1.38 volts and 4.7GHz while staying at 78 degrees, but CPU-z shows that the speed fluctuates. I guess I will be going back to stock vcore and 4.6GHz.
