Hello, I own a Lenovo y510p with sli feature and when I am playing some of the AAA title games (Battlefield 3, Far cry 3, etc) my cpu temps get to about 70-80 degrees (C). Is this normal for a gaming laptop?

If this isn't. how do I fix it or manage it better?

GPU gets to about 53

thanks

Gaming Laptops can run very hot, due to the fact that it's very compact. You could if you haven't yet and use a can of compressed air and blow out the vent holes and make sure there clear. That can cause heat build up. If this just recently started going on then perhaps there's something internal that's causing the problem. If it's still warranty then give Lenovo a call.

I am not sure about gaming laptops, but for me if a cpu has to be under 85 degrees C. Your GPU is very cool so you don't have to worry about that. If your concerned about your cpu and want to take an extra precaution, you can buy a laptop cooler. Its basically a giant fan under your laptop blowing cool air to the underside of the laptop.

Heres one i recommend

The only thing the cooler is going to do is try to pull out as much heat as the fans can from the most likely plastic shell of the laptop and it won't be like a whole lot. Not saying there not helpful but.

It's not the build quality. It's the fact that everything is shoved in there with limited air flow. But people want small and mobile.
