So I've been using this setup for about 2 years..and I've been doing a bit of my own research and benchmark viewing, I'm looking for some advice and opinions about some different parts.

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250
GPU: Radeon HD 6670
MOBO: Biostar A880G+
RAM: 4gb Ripjaw
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 650Watts

Now my considered upgrades are Radeon R7 265 for GPU, Intel core i3-4130 or Intel core i5-4590, getting about 12gb Ram maybe 16 if I have the funds, I don't have any clue on a good motherboard, could you guys recommend something good with those choices and any suggestions on newegg specials or deals currently going that could benefit me.

Probably keep that PSU, so yeah as you can see my stuff is pretty old, give me any suggestions. Also to finish off, does anyone know if you need an extra strong computer for say the Oculus Rift? Does it require double processing power or something.

Im not really good with intel so i leave this question for others and anything else it really depends what you going to be doing, if gaming 8gb is enough, you should spend that extra money on gpu or cpu rather then getting more ram and dont go faster than 1600 if you gaming unless 1866 is for same price.

If you have money r9 270x would be nice upgrade for gaming, you could also get fx 6300 to do nice cheap combo without bottlenecking, but it depends what you do with it, budget and if you want to join intel or amd
