RAM upgrade suggestion

i am planning to upgrade my RAM

current config:
core 2 duo e4600 2.4ghz
1gb ddr2 667mhz
asus p5qpl am motherboard

to upgrade, which is better(faster):
current 1gb 667+new 1gb 667 or
new 2gb 800mhz

thanks in advance :)

Adding a second 1 gb stick would allow you to access via dual channel. Practically though, It is a difference you would only 'see' in benchmarks. I don't think the difference is great enough to notice in any 'real world' sense. The new 2 gb stick would allow you to get a second 2 gb stick later, thereby increasing that upgrade path.
