Hey guys,

So i recently purchased the new 4k monitor, 28 samsungs just released, through a deal with the company i work with. I've used it for the day, however when i play league of legends my PC eventually turns off.

I've looked into it and the card gets to about 52 (degrees c) then turns off the entire system to avoid meltdown.
I run this new 4k monitor along with LG's 29" ultra wide 2560x1080, so my card is under load but when im not playing league everything is fine and responsive.
I use the MSI GTX 780 3GB Lightning edition, which i thought would be enough but it seems its not.

Now there are a couple other things that might be coincidence but also may be related. Recently the button on my case died and i've been having the short the two pins on the motherboard to turn the PC on, but as of recent, that hasnt been working strangely and i've found that if i flick the switch on the PSU half way quick enough then back to full, i can surge the PC into turning on fine.... Not sure if any of these problems are related but here are the solutions i've come up with that might help, only im not sure what actually is the solution, please any help?

1. Too much load to 1 graphics card, perhaps a second would solve it.
2. The PSU is whack, and it needs a new one.
3. The PSU (corsair AX850w) isn't able to give the card enough juice when the PC gets to a certain load and turns it off.
4. The graphics card just doesn't have enough cooling capabilities and requires water cooling.

Sadly I think however i look at it, I may need a new M/B for the pins, or PSU, or water cooling, or a combination... A costly en-devour i was hoping to avoid... Any ideas fellas?

i have the same samsung 28 inch works fine on my pc running 2 gtx 770s with a 750 watt power supply and mine works fine for the 4k. Been trying to figure if i should get 2 290xs or 1 780ti for the 4k part.

Honestly im not exactly sure how to go about getting these details, i have a 1080p monitor, and would it matter if its HDMI,dvi, or vga, i can ofc get into the bios, as to where i find info, ill have to search around. I have the Z77 sabertooth.

Well for one you've got 2 GPUs doing work where as i only have a higher powered singular card, and as far as i can tell this only happens when i play league of legends, and no other game, thus far i've only tried WoW and league though.

On a separate note, i blew out all traces of dust and bumped down the league settings to 60fps (as opposed to uncapped 230fps) i kept all settings at max, except for turning off anti aliasing, and setting it to, wait for vertical sync. Still the GPU overheats....

Your mobo =- https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z77/ has
"UEFI BIOS

Flexible & Easy BIOS Interface
Full-scale Performance Tuning with Easy BIOS Interface
Media-renowned UEFI BIOS offers the first mouse-controlled graphical BIOS designed with selectable modes and native support for hard drives over 2.2 TB. Users can also drag and drop boot priorities with the exclusive EZ mode, while Advanced Mode offers intricate settings."

Install it and use it.

That interface that they have screenshot next to the 'UEFI BIOS' part, is something that happens as the PC posts, it's not something i can install. Im also assuming you're telling me to use that to find the info you're after, rather than that may be a solution for me.

On another note, i made the screens desktop resolution to 1080p, oepned league and played it in 1080, and the heat of the graphics card didnt move from the normal 28(degrees c) it sits at. So it's definitely that the GPU's going mental over the amount of power it needs to push out for the 4k content....

How many fans ya got running in that thing i have 2 on side of the case right on the vid card and 2 exhaust on top and one on back. Also if i leave mine to do the standard fan speeds as it get hotter it will get pretty high but i have presison x and set the fan speed to go faster ealier and it stays at a cool 70c but man you can feel the heat ejecting from the case. As for the 4k on duel 770s 2 gig for the full UHD i only get like on 30 or so on like bf4 but on wow it works pretty good.
