Hy im looking for server for web hosting service.
I will use promox or vmware ESXI for virtualization and i will run 1 Cent OS server with cPanel and multiple VPS servers.
I will need about 8TB hard drive space.
I will have about 1000 cPanel users.
I want to know if vmware esxi and promox can do backups and than copy to external hard drive?

Solution
VMware doesn't do backups on its own..you could do lets say ..snapshot images using vmotion to restore an image to another vm host...but that's about it. snapshots are also not technically a backup.

You can use VEEAM's free edition to do full backups of the vmdk files to restore the VM image within minutes.

I use the enterprise version here at my job and its great.

eh...you can run veeam on the same machine..although I'd advise against it. I'm a fan of putting vcenter/veeam on seperate boxes entirely but you certainly can put vcenter/veeam on the same system.

I dont know for what will happen with esxi after 60 days?
And do you know for some good VPS manager?

And you are happy with Solus?
Can i set limits for every users and how much VPS can they make and so on?

And do you think what is better for Cent OS server with cPanel - 4TB 64MB disk or 4TB 128MB ?

I haven't used Solus in quite some time, it was used at another job but it was a very simple GUI that was powerful/easy to use.

As far as cPanel with the amount of users you might want to just do 4TB 128MB.

Do you think is good to i take RAID 1 2X4TB disk?
And i will have about 1000 users and each of them will have unlimited storage and when 4TB is going to full can i just add another one drive to existing server?

What server are you getting anyway? You can't just add storage into a virtual array by just throwing in a new drive. You'd have to rebuild the array to expand it.

Raid1 is fine, but its important to understand the types of raid and what their purpose/benefits are.

Actualy im biulding server with Core i7 or Xeon procesor with 16GB ram in normal pc case.
Do you know if cPanel support multiple disk?
Like i put 1000 users on 1 disk and 500 on second disk?

I have not used cPanel so I have no idea. just FYI if you're making a normal PC and not a server, ESXi is not going to install, and the only way to get it to install is to tweak the installer so it picks up your network card, drivers, etc. You would also not have a raid card and would be using software raid..which isn't nearly as reliable.

Aha.
Becuase im getting much more performance with custom PC biuld and use as Server than buy server for 1500$.
I think that proxmox will support normal pc and its free so i will use proxmox.
Did you know any other solution for multiple disk together in 1 Cent OS server.
