How to make graphics adapter driver permanent?

I don't understand much about graphics drivers, but I know that I have 3 driver versions for my adapter installed on my PC (one of which I downloaded myself).

Out of the three, only one of them works for programs such as Sony Vegas or Minecraft. The other two produce errors.

I can update my driver to the one that works with said programs (via device manager), and all is good... but when I turn off my PC, the driver changes back to the one that produces errors.
(i.e I can't permanently keep the working driver installed)

I've been told to uninstall the other two drivers, but I don't know how to do this. When I tried uninstalling them, it seems the entire driver becomes unusable.

How can I do this? Or is there any other solution to keeping this particular driver permanently installed?

Thanks. Hope you guys can help me out on this one.

Post your system specs so I can point you to the correct drivers:

After I point you to the most recent drivers and you download them you can do the following:

Go to your start menu and type devmgmt.msc in the run or search box or navigate to control panel>device manager.

Open Display adapters and right click on the listed device adapter. Select uninstall and the make sure the box that says "uninstall device driver" is checked.

Do this for each listed adapter.

Go to programs and features in control panel and uninstall any applications related to your graphics adapter.

Reboot.

Reinstall the correct drivers for your adapter.
