Definitely get the A10 over the A8 if you can afford it. EDIT Assuming it's for gaming that is and you don't have a separate graphics card. If you have a graphics card, get an x4 750K

Also, what is the price difference in your region if you don't mind my asking? Make sure you get some fast RAM if you're going to buy an APU. At least 1866Mhz.

a8 at around $100 while a10 at around $140.

I'm more after Performance vs price ratio because i'm seeing stuff like: "a10-6800k performs no more than 10% better than a8-6600k".

I do play games but not exactly into ULTRA settings. Medium to high settings is more than enough for me. Also planning to buy 2x R7-270 GPU's for crossfire

If you are buying a separate GPU DO NOT get the A10, do not get an APU at all!

The performance of the processor bit on an APU is pretty weak in comparison to other options like an FX 6300 with a socket 970 motherboard or even an i3 with a H81 motherboard.

I see APU's as a good choice if you really cannot afford a separate graphics card or if a graphics card will be a bad thing like in a low-profile home theatre PC. If you're building a gaming machine a strong processor is the way to go.

If you let me know your country and budget I'll see what we can do for the budget. If an FX or i3 is out of the question then get an x4 750K and an R9 270X.

Problem is, my board is a FM2 socket (F2A55M-DS2). And i don't plan on buying a new Mobo, so just gonna max out what my Mobo can do for me.

The x4 750k is socket fm2. Its an a10 without the built in graphics so perfect if you are buying your own graphics card. Its also a lot cheaper because it hasn't got the onboard GPU and over clocks great because of it.

Your motherboard defininitely supports it check out the list of CPUs here http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-p...

If you are going to Crossfire 2 270's then there is nothing you can drop in a FM2 socket that will not be bottlenecked.

a X4 760K is your best bet, but that bottlenecks a single 270.

If they overclock, a single 270X will probably be OK but I agree that crossfire is a waste of a card because one of them will barely be doing anything.

An x4 750K/760K is basically an A10-5700 without the GPU part OP. There is absolutely no point getting an A10 or A6 if you are buying a separate graphics card, especially one as powerful as a 270 or 270X
