The manufacturers website would be a good place to look.
emachine website is no longer updating older computers,,mine was built in 2002
Your machine is 12 years old, which the manufacturer (emachine) honestly informs you they stopped supporting. XP is NOT supported OS for consumers, and 'corporate' level was also stopped. Given all this, the simpliest, easiest and most economically friendly answer is to replace the computer, you are several years overdue.
The price of a new computer (which IS supported, IS under warranty) just for 'basic use' (check your email, watch Netflix, etc.) is only $249 Walmart desktop or laptop. Plug it in, turn it on, and just follow the prompts is how they are setup for a long while now, so no need to worry about 'configurations, drivers, etc.' out of the box. Further there are numerous 'back to school deals' they are stating would drive it down to under $200, primarily as a laptop.
The 'Computer Selling' model has moved to follow the 'Cell Phone' model, that computers are 'disposable' every couple of years like a Cell Phone under your 2 year 'contract', you get a new phone, same with computers, you get a new computer. This has further been pushed as of Windows 8.1 all data is 'synched' to Microsoft's LIVE servers, like how your cell phone apps / contacts is 'synched' to that provider when you 'change phones' so now will happen with your 'Windows Stuff'.
