Started with CreataCard Gold Version 2 with WinXP. Now using Win 7, have purchased CreataCard Platinum 7 which works fine with Win 7; however, I cannot access greeting cards previously made with the first version. Is CreataCard 7 not backwards compatible?

That's not a Windows version problem. Blame the makers of CreataCard for changing the file format between your old version and the latest version. They are by no means alone in doing that, same happens with all kinds of software, especially if you make a sudden jump up from a very old version to a new version as you have done.
Backwards compatibility cannot be taken for granted where software is concerned, especially if you 'skip' several updates/upgrades.
