Hi all,

I'm looking to get a power supply for my system. Here's my build:

I'm looking at getting this PSU:

I don't plan on cross firing, so I know I can get away with a lower PSU. i'm just wondering if 650 is enough to power an overclock i5 4690k and an overclocked r9 290 with water cooling.

I can get a 750 for $10 more, however it's got a horrendous handle that sticks out the back of the case. I also know it won't be enough to xfire anyway, so it may be overkill now.

650w is plenty for your setup however i suggest this new B2 model, better quality than the nex model! an quality unit like this one will handle even an crossfire setup!

EVGA G1 is made by FSP, they are alright, but not as good as Super Flower that make EVGA's G2/P2/T2/B2 series.

I would go with the B2 as it's similar in price & better manufacturer behind it. The G2 is one of the best, if you can swing it.

I want a fully modular solution so I don't want to get either or those.

This is the other choice, but it has a handle I don't like.

then G2 750w is your best option from EVGA

That's FSP made, it was discontinued for the newer G1. This is the one you'll want IMO:

Those solutions are significantly more expensive. Which is why I'm trying to see if the 650 will power a strongly over clocked system. If it won't, I'll get the other 750 I listed as it's only 79.99

semi and full modular isnt that different since you will have to use 20+4pin mobo and 4+4pin cpu power cables! i would prefer the better quality! B2 with the similar price! i wouldnt suggest Nex750g for crossfire! for just one gpu, its ok though!

It's reduced to clear the stock, as it's a discontinued item.

The B2 should be better (no official reviews out yet sadly), as it has a better manufacturer behind it, one of the best in Super Flower, comparable to Seasonic. That would be the company i'd rather take a gamble on.

It's up to you, your money.
