Matrix 280x eyefinity problem

Hi,

I have a ASUS matrix r9 280x which has 4 display ports and 2 DVIs.
I have 3 monitors with HDMI slots in the back.

I am using two DVI to HDMI converters for two monitors, and a Display port to HDMI converter for the third.

My problem is I can only get two monitors active at any one time.

Please help!!!

Thanks, David.

  1. You need an active DisplayPort to DVI converter, a converter to HDMI will not work

    See http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-803443/eyefinity-setup-guide.html for eyefinity issues
  2. Okay, well I'm kinda F***ed as the monitors don't have DVI. I saw a youtube vid. of these monitors (AOC E2461FWH) running in eyefinity x3, is it possible that set-up had a gpu which had no DPs?
  3. I doubt it. You could try an active DisplayPort to DVI adapter, then a passive DVI to HDMI adapter, though I'm not certain this will work

Sorry to be a pain, but I don't understand why an active DP to HDMI wouldn't work?

An Active DisplayPort to HDMI converter may work, but is not specified by AMD or ASUS as a cable that would work. You probably have a passive adapter, which essentially carries a HDMI Video signal from the GPUs DisplayPort to your monitors HDMI port.

Ok bud, thanks for all your help :)
  7. No problem :) Remember, said cable may work, but there's no guarantee, and when I was looking around I found it hard to find such a cable.

Try contacting ASUS and see what they say about it
