Hi all, need some help here, first of all, I have my eyefinity setup with 3 screens no problem, I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable, a mini display port (active adapter) to HDMI cable and a straight HDMI to HDMI cable with no issues.....I want to add a 4th screen so I purchased another Mini DisplayPort to DVI active adapter......and from the DVI port on the adapter I'm running a DVI to VGA cable, now the problem I have is that CCC can see the monitor and apply it to my eyefinity setup with no issues, it's also seen within the screen resolution settings and I can extend the desktop to the 4th screen and it saves the settings no problem, but my monitor isn't showing any kind of display???? I've tried using a different screen and the same happens!!! I'm guessing the problem is somewhere between the second active Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and then from there the DVI to VGA cable!!! But I can't figure out why!!! I've tried a DVI-A cable to VGA and a DVI-I cable to VGA!!!! It's got me beat!!! Any help out there?? Cheers in advance

* just to add........the monitor is simply saying 'no input signal'......but if I move my mouse upwards on my centre screen then it disappears into the 4th screen!!! I know this because it takes a little while to appear again when scrolling my mouse down back towards my centre screen!!

I think it only offers support for up to 6 screens if you get monitors that daisy chain off of display port.

You certainly need to stop using the DVI port to make it work, I believe, it shares with the HDMI port and that is why you needed one active adapter. I haven't encountered that specific configuration you have there.

Most of the monitors our developers use are display port from the start.

Well....my GPU has 1 x HDMI, 2 x DVI ports, & 2 x mini display ports, so in order to get 4 x screens I have to use 1 of the DVI ports to do this!!! But I think tomorrow I'll ditch the active Mini DisplayPort DVI adapter and use an active Mini DisplayPort VGA adapter which will keep things a little simpler!! Because that way I'm not trying to convert a DVI signal to a VGA one via the displayport adapter!!!
I can just run a VGA cable and keep things analogue!!

Can't think of anything else it could be!!!

Just to advise....got it sorted!!! I ditched the whole VGA Thing, and got myself a DVI/HDMI adapter, and from there I ran a HDMI cable into the back of a different TV.....worked like a charm!!!! 4th screen now setup!!

So.......I then thought that rather than stealing the wife's bedroom TV and getting earache for doing so.....I bought a displayport to VGA active adapter, and ran a VGA cable straight into the back of my monitor.....and that worked like a charm!!!

So, all in all.....lesson learned!!! Don't make things complicated by mixing digital (DVI) and analogue (VGA)!!!!
