Solution
Get a i5 4690k instead, get a z97 board, if you don't want to oc, get the 4690 and a h97 board, spent WAY TOO MUCH ON SSD, if this is for gaming this is not suited for it

Get a z97 mobo and a psu from a more reputed brand like corsair or seasonic and get atleast an r9 280x.

That model is a good one made by super flower, but way overpowered. You only need a 1000watts with a very power hungry cpu+two gpu's or a triple card system.
With the z97 mobo would a "K" series cpu be good,if you're not going to overclock is a good H97 mobo good enough with a one card system. With crossfire/sli would a Z97 motherboard indeed be good and one that supports 2xpcie slots@x8.

Get a cheaper psu, keep in mind whether you want sliçrossfire (~>750watt) or not (~>550watt).

If you're at the max of your budget get a 4460/4590/4690 cpu and a better gpu for gaming.
You could still do with 8gb's of ram,the money saved could again go to the gpu.Or a better case maybe?
The ssd is a overkill too imo,that's a lot of money better spend.Get a ~250gb ssd and a 1tb hdd @7200rpm.

well thats certainly a power PC that can do medium/high gaming with no problems (moderate gaming). For everything else it will chomp right through it, renders, edits, etc.

If you only game, go with the i5 4690k instead as mentioned above and get a stronger GPU.

Thanks for the feedback. Switching to the i5-4690K would save ~$70, which more than covers the upgrade to a z97 board, but can you explain the benefits? When I check the benchmarks (https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php), score/performance falls by ~23% - I guess I don't understand how mobo impacts performance beyond the type/array of connections available.

I hear you on the SSD being expensive, but I've actually already got it - picked it up a while ago for my current computer at a pretty steep discount (~$400).

Thanks again in advance!
