A friend of mine just got his computer and wanted to demo it with tf2 Dota 2 and some other games. He says he already re-installed the drivers but the games still refuses to work. He is running Ubuntu 14.04. Here are his specs:
AMD fx-6300
Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0
MSI GeForce GTX 750ti
SeaGate Barracuda 7200rpm 1tb
GSkill Sniper 2x4gb RAM
EVGA 500w PSU
Thermaltake V3 AMD Edition
Please help out a little. Thanks in advance!

I think it's cause most games don't support Ubuntu, seeing as a steam game, it might only support apple os and windows so it might not work as well

Even if it is the Linux version? And also, Steam has a linux version too. He is not using WINE or anything like that.

...My head just threw a CRC mismatch error - Ubuntu is a distribution of Linux. Not sure I understand what's meant by this.

Regardless, I run Arch Linux on an Asus Q501 (laptop with mobile i5, integrated video) and it plays League of Legends with no problems, excluding the poor performance from not having a video card. If you give me a few minutes, I can actually fire up a live Ubuntu stick and see if I can't replicate the problem you're having and get it fixed.

I'd recommend avoiding the Linux forums - they're like a pack of the most unhelpful, asinine ***holes on the internet all gathered into one place, and you'll probably just be referred to the wiki. Let me see if I can't be of some use and figure out what's going on.

Hmmm... Stranger this gets... One does not simply download the linux games without running into trouble.. I'd suggest to reinstall the linux dota 2, or check for ubuntu updates
