Hello,

I recently just built my computer about 4 months ago, and just about a month and a half ago my frames just started dropping on BF4 from 70 all the way to the 30s on Ultra. I tried fidgeting with the video settings from High all the way to the Lowest setting but the frame rate issue was still there. I just now noticed that not too long ago now, about a 3 weeks ago, that even my steam games were starting to drop frames; this time even worse to where the game is actually freezing and stuttering. I thought it had something to do with my processor, which is also a weird subject, it seems to fill up using all its power even though I only have 1 or 2 tabs opened in Chrome. I cleaned all the processes and closed the windows while playing games but to no avail. What is the problem with my PC

CPU: i7 4770
GPU: GTX 770 4Gb
RAM: 8 Gb
Motherboard: Asus gryphon

TL;DR
My PC is running terrible even though it decent.

I'd suggest 2 actions, running a scan for viruses, then uninstalling and doing a clean install of your GPU drivers.

I know this may be the dumbest thing, but right now I only have Microsoft Security Essentials running to scan for viruses.

While it's certainly not dumb I'd recommend getting a beefier security on your system ASAP!

That would be up to you. There are many to chose from to cater to your needs so you'll have to have a read around the internet. I personally use AVG.

Lets just say it wasnt the fact that i had a virus, what would be the best plan of action. ive tried reinstalling drivers at least 3 times and the issue never changes i can try one more time to see if it fixes it.

Like I said, as far as I'm concerned there isn't one single best protection, they all have their pro's and con's. I like AVG because it doesn't use a lot of my system resources, it's easy to use and it UI is pleasant. Other people might hate it though.

Here, this might help - http://uk.pcmag.com/security-reviews/8400/guide/the-bes...

If it's not down to a virus then a fresh install of Windows might help.
