Can I put 4 X 8 Gb DDR3 at 2400 MHz memory into a motherboard, while the processor chip states 1866 Max DDR3?

You can if it's got the slots and chipset provides the support.....is it doesn't support 2400, it will just run at what it does support..... what MoBo ?

Asus Crosshair V, says it is 2133 MHz OC. I'm buying parts individually for a dream machine and I my as well just get some 2133 sticks I guess.

Big thing will be the CPU (the individual CPU), I haven't seen any AMD CPUs that can run 32GB of 2133 let alone 2400, the mobo may be capable of 2133 or 2400 but you have to have a CPU that can carry the sticks since the MC (memory controller) is in the CPU......
