Hello,

I am interested in buying the CM Jetflo 120mm Fan. It is a PWM fan which means it has a 4-Pin connector. I want to buy 3 of these but what if your motherboard only has 2 x 4-Pin headers and the rest are 3-Pin headers.

I am planning to have all of them run at 100% Speed so a 3-Pin Header would force the fan to run at 100% anyway, but what if you plugged the fan in the 4-Pin Header? The 4th pin in a 4-Pin Header controls the fan speed which I do not want because I want it to run at 100%.

Do I have to go into the BIOS to turn off settings that allows the MOBO to adjust fan speed. Or the fan will just go 100% anyway? I also got a bunch of Molex connectors in my PSU. Would Molex connectors allow the fan to go 100% as well?

Here is my Motherboard details. Go to Page 2 for the layout:

My PSU is the Thermaltake Litepower 600W. It has bunch of molex connectors which I do not really know how to use.

Thanks.

That is MoBo dependent.... many boards are quite capable of using DC voltage control on 4 pin headers. All Asus Z87 boards for example have all 4 pin headers but only the CPU and CPU_OPT headers are PWM, all the other 4 pin headers are DC..... and they all respond t BIOS of FanXpert 2 control. On Z97 they are all PWM but can run either DC or PWM via a BIOS setting.

You can control PWM fans with this.

Just set up fans to always run at 100% .... dunno how / if asrock does this this. I'll leave it up to you to read the 283 page manual :) ...Hint BIOS Section

I looked in the BIOS and apparently all fans are running 100% by default so I do not have to do anything. All good! :)
EDIT: Also I already got my three Jetflo 120mm fans running inside. Works flawlessly, a bit loud though.
