why am i only getting 3.46 gb of ram on a 6gb

I have a Samsung 64 bit window 8 laptop.I have 6 gigs of ram but it only lets me use 3.46gb.
I tried every thing from msconfig to using my hdd memory for ram but nothing works. Please give me a software or any tips

Interesting. Are you running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows? To find out just search "PC info" at Windows 8.

Or I think if you out the mouse in the bottom-let corner and right-click you should get an option for system specs of PC info.
