I initially planned to buy a Logitech G230 for sound, but later decided to go for the Kingston Hyperx Cloud since people multiple forums said it was utterly superior to all other at that price and under. Along with some additional research I found out that the headset would benefit greatly from a separate soundcard since it uses ~60 ohms.

I plan to buy the Creative X-fi Go or the Creative X-fi Surround 5.1.
Is the the surround 5.1 so much better to justify the $20 price hike?

Thank you,

The 5.1 lets you setup 5.1 speakers for surround sound experience.

Other than that would there be any distinct difference between the two? I will be living in a university dorm so I don't think I will be using a surround sound set-up, haha.

Then it's up to u, the 5.1 one means you can used it as standard 2 speakers and up to 5.1 if needed later on. I would go with the 5.1
