Doing a build and the mobo I've chosen uses a 740g chipset. However, I've been reading that it would be best to get a mobo with a 990 chipset.

This would require me to change my build from an mATX to ATX, which I would prefer not to do. But will if there will be a significant performance upgrade.

So I was wondering, will a 990 chipset really make that much of a difference?

A few great 990 chipset mobos are the Asus Crosshair-V Formula, or the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
