I have a lap with 4 GB ram, Ci5 intel,500 gb HDD .Is this configuration ideal for dual booting my system pre installed with windows.I would like to dual boot Ubuntu and Win 7.Is there any error issues probable??

Solution
It should be okay as long as you make sure there is an empty partition for the Ubuntu installation since you can't install it on the free space of an existing partition.

Instead of dual booting. I would suggest a virtual machine. Though your config is absolutely ok yet vm is easy to setup and work with. You can refer this link too.
