Noob here, have just decided on my build after a 3 month research, planning on end of year build.

Decided on a higher end setup, asus rampage 4 black edition Mobo, with the i7-4930k.
And just a few hours ago, i saw that a new x99 mobo is going to be released, and the haswell as well.

does this mean my initial decided build will not be able to upgrade to use any haswell cpus, and surely never be able to move on to ddr4?

wth?

Solution
Your current MoBo won't support Haswell-e as they use LGA2011-3 and your MoBo doesn't have that socket. As for DDR4, no CPU or MoBo currently supports DDR4 and therefore your MoBo won't support it.
All in all, no for both your queries.
Btw, nothing to be sad about, the cheapest haswell-E, the 5820k is $400ish and will run at a lower clock speed, only the $600ish 5930k will match your current CPU's clock speed.
