Hi I have a had problem for few weeks with my PC which is that when I install, copy or download anything to my hard drive including new Email. After a reboot all of the installs, copied files or downloads are gone as if the systems been reset back to the same setting again. I recently upgraded to a Samsung ssd 500gb with a clean install of windows 7 and it worked fine until yesterday when I installed one of the last of the dozens of updates to the operating system and its doing same as the old hard disk is not saving anything. I have asked around and done a few google searchs but no one seems to have had this issue. Are you aware of any issues with windows updates and this type of problem? Its really irritating as you can imagine. I thought might be malware but Ive tried several anti virus and malware programs to no avail. My system is an i5 2500k with a gigabyte Z68XP-UD3, 8gb 1600 ram, Samsung SSR 500gb and Samsung 750gb had disks. Your help would hugely appreciated as it is making PC virtually useless at the moment.

Solution
Any chance you're running some freeze state program such as Faronic's Deepfreeze? these programs are designed to restore your pc to a previous state with every reboot so look around for any program like that installed in your pc.

I'm afraid you are right I hadn't realised that I had enabled a program called quietzone which is designed to protect your privacy when using the internet but I hadn't realised it also prevents anything being saved to hard drive when you shutdown as well, so I feel pretty stupid nevermind at least it's working fine now and thanks for your help.
