Hello everyone, when i try to turn off my PC it freezes at the desktop .
So not at the blue screen with the circle rotating like a lot of people have.
I can ctrl+alt+delete then if i press task manager the screen turns black. This started only a few days ago.
Then i press reset on my pc and im able to shut down normally.
What's the problem ? I've read that the registry might be a problem. I've never cleaned it yet (have this pc for 6-7
months, installed and uninstalled a lot of games). Also read that resetting the CMOS might help.

I just turned it off a few seconds ago in regular mode and it went fine. Really this has only been happening at night when im about
to go to sleep and i've been playing for some time. And if i remember correctly its only after playing dark souls (playing in windowed mode while watching videos on chrome waiting for pvp). So i can't remember it happening yet with
another game. Maybe not enough RAM ?

the game and pc will lag if the ram is not enough but your is different i dont think its the ram may be the registry is corrupted the hdd is full or just a virus or malware so a fresh install of windows would do the job....

I wouldnt need to delete anything on my other disks right ? Only the one windows is on ? Would be annoying to install all that data again. Will i also need to reinstall drivers ?
