Would a Core 2 Quad processor Bottleneck my GTX 460?

hello experts,

i need help here .. what model of core 2 quad would not bottleneck my gtx 460? im sorry for the old stuffs lol .. i dont have money to upgrade .. im still using a dual core e5400 procie and i think its not enough for the GPU

Pretty much all of them are going to, I had a Q6600 oced to 3.7Ghz with a HD4850, bought a FX-8320 and noticed a nice boost overall (around 50% fps increase) while still using my HD4850. Still, should be playable with your CPU lowering quality here and there until you get enough to upgrade your pc.

so if i upgrade my cpu to a c2quad .. theres an fps boost too? compare to my e5400 right ?

Not unless you overclock the quad or it is natively faster than the E5400 2.7GHz, but either way, these chips are good overclockers.

My E5400 is overclocked to 3.6Ghz by upping the cpu voltage to 1.35v and setting FSB to 266x13.5 on a cheap G41 motherboard and good cooling.

can you teach me how to overclock the e5400 ? i hate a p5kpl epu motherboard

sir, for now i want to overclock my processor but how? can you teach me? i have a asus p5kpl-am epu motherboard .. 4GB ram ..
