It would be nice to have a 144Hertz monitor when doing a SLI or crossfire build. You only benefit when your fps is above 60 fps else.

If its FHD then absolutely yes. If its 1440p then too yes 60Hz would not let those GPU setups go to their potential. 144Hz for any SLI or CF setup you're thinking about.
Its really worth it, otherwise, the money spent on 2 way GPUs will be a waste.

Yep 144Hz is worth it for sure. Especially with your upcoming high end build :)
So much smoother than 60hz.

I would recommend 3 60hz 1080 monitors, very immersive gaming.

taps my 120Hz. For us Older Folk trying not be 'Bambi' with the younger 'twitchers' out there whom seem to head shot a 4 pixel spot as easily as just spitting on their screen, yeah above 60Hz is critical. It helps provide more 'realism' and higher definitional detail that we all can at least DUCK when we see your 4 pixel spot 'move' .

I NEVER seen a time when Crossfire or SLI was worth it EXCEPT if you do multi panel (3 or more) setups. Numerous games don't support or even perform WORSE when Crossfire / SLI is used, and the COST for 2 cards (plus power and cooling two cards) is about the SAME or MORE then just getting the highest end card already available, which performs THE SAME as the Crossfire/SLI.

^ Very true. I'd just go for a great single card like a 780ti or the GTX 880 when it comes out, and get a monitor like the Asus ROG Swift to go with it.

I think I'm getting an 880 and a Swift, but I can't convince myself that I'll play enough games for it to be worth it :p
