Hey there !

I have two Gigabyte Windforce HD7950 but I can hardly ever run them together . Each one of them works perfectly when used alone but as soon as I put both of them in with CF setup it works for like a day or two and then I get random freezes and funny colors like they are broken.

I tried changing drivers , updating bios , changing slots , switching bios on GPU ... Unfortunately no Bios Update for my HD7950 ....

What could I do :( ?

This is my system setup :

ASRock 990FX Extreme4
AMD FX 8350
Corsair RM850 PSU
2x4GB Kingston DDR3
Crossfire HD7950
Kingston HyperX 3k 120GB SSD for Windows
2 TB Seagate HDD

Thank you in advance guys!

If both cards seem to be fine alone, then that rules out either of the cards being broken. That also rules out any possible driver issues, but what it does NOT rule out, is power consumption, heat, and unstable clock rates.

IF EITHER OF THE CARDS IS OVERCLOCKED: Go into Catalyst Control Center, click the "Performance" tab, and uncheck the "Enable Graphics OverDrive" checkbox. Then run the PC as normal. If the problem persists...

IF YOU WITNESS HIGH FAN SPEEDS OR UNSAFE TEMPS: Maybe the two cards are one slot too close to each other. Try putting one in the first PCI-e slot, and the second card in the third PCI-e slot from the top. This should be a PCI-e x16 slot. This should allow both cards some breathing room for cooler temps. If the problem persists...

IF ARTIFACTING CONTINUES: It is almost certainly your PSU not meeting the power requirements of both cards. Try going for a 1,000 Watt PSU, or finding more ways to save power, such as reducing CPU overclocks or maximum fan speeds.

I'll take a look into it tommorow ... Yesterday I played GTA 4 maxed out completely for like 4 hours and as soon as I played 1 game of league the artifacts came back again ... I don't know what's happening anymore ... I think I'm just gonna buy a r9 290x
