Graphics Card with best Video Quality on 40" LED (1080p)

Hi Everyone,

I would like to purchase a graphics card to primarily play videos on my 40" LED via HDMI

Current Config:


  • Intel Dual Core 2 Ghz
    2 GB DDR2 Ram
    Intel DG965RY Motherboard (no HDMI)

I had short-listed the following cards:

Sapphire r7 240 1 GB GDDR5
Sapphire r7 250 1 GB GDDR5
Asus / Sapphire HD 5450


1) Will there be any difference in video quality between the HD 5450 and the other cards listed?

2) Since the HD 5450 supports hardware acceleration of fewer video formats, will the quality be inferior in comparison to the other cards?

3) I was also considering Nvidia GT 640 / 730 (GDDR 5). However it seems the AMD video quality is better. Is this true?

Yeah on Higher resolutions the difference will be noticeable still if you're not going to play games then any graphics card will be fine.

The price difference between r7 250 and 7750 is $25 in India.

Since I am primarily going to use this for watching videos (movies etc) on my LED, would there be a difference in picture quality between the AMD 5450 and the other cards listed.
