if its only for gaming you dont have to go with 16Gb of ram but its ok you can leave it if you are going to use SSD only for boot then go with 120Gb and left over of that invest in something else i whould change the brand of the MOBO dont trust that much in MSi but thats all personal opinion but still pretty good PC nicely done

The point of the 16gb of RAM was to futureproof it a bit. I was going to install my favourite games onto the SSD as well as the operating system so I could minimise loading screens etc. What mobo would you recommend?

you can allways do that later i whould recommend some bette PSU i cant find tier for this one you choosed maybe Seasonic M12II EVO 620W here is how much your GPU will need power http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-geforce-gtx-780-directcu-ii-review,7.html
the seasonic is tier2 and its 80+ bronze and your CPU is 88TDP max you can see it here: http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz

So you dont really need that 750w PSU go with smaller but quality one

i whould recommend to pair the GPU and MOBO with same brand i whould allwasy choose ASUS for my motherboard they are very well made quality and utility are just awesome MSi has big failure % on mobo's and gpu's thats just what i heard im not a fan boy or something i just know that i didnt see any bad review for ASUS branded motherboard

you got a refreash of Intel haswell CPU there is no reason for not to go with new Z97 Boards maybe if you drop the 16Gb ram couse you dont need it right now you can buy better Mobo and later on when that extra 8Gb will going to be needed you will install them more easily then a new mobo or else: http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132132
this one is good 8+2 Digital Phase Power Design good for OC if you will OC the SABERTOOTH mobos are newer a miss you can probably find it cheaper somewhere

This board supports 1866MHz,1600MHz and 1333MHz RAM Sticks you will not going to have any benefit from 2400MHz you choosed go with Corsair,Crucial or Kingston 1600MHz RAM Sticks

SSD will boost your system but there is really no point to store the games on it it will boost your gaming load time but not much i mean what you are going to pay extra 30-40$ for 5sec? its better to invest in something else and just leave the SSD For boot you will have extra 70Gb when you install your OS on 120Gb SSD i know couse i have it

here is my build:

take a look and think about it

Cheers for the advice! I will definitely consider it. I really wanna get a good monitor.. I don't mind too much about price as long as its under £200. What would you recommend? Also, would this PC setup be able to run next gen games on max settings without a too bad FPS drop?
