what does this mean? I know the 5930K is a waste from a performance perspective since you can overclock the 5820K, but it has 16 more lanes ( I think)
Does this mean that 4- way SLI/ Crossfire is not supported by the 5820K?
What effect will the reduced lanes have on a user-perspective?

Solution
Reduced PCI-E lane support means no 3-way SLI/crossfire. But even if you run three GPUs, they would be forced to run in a 16/8/4 controller configuration and the third GPU will have insufficient bandwidth and run like crap. The third GPU will then be a waste, even if being used as a PhysX card.
