I am looking to upgrade my computer. I mainly use it for playing games such as CS:GO, Dota, and occasionally others. I am looking for more performance out of my computer and was wondering which components would be the main factor in increasing framerate, etc.
My Current setup is:

  • ■ AMD Fx-4100
    ■ PowerColor HD 7770 GHz Edition
I was looking at an Asus R9 270x for graphics if needed to upgrade and an Fx-6300 or 8350 for the CPU.

Thanks for the help!

If you don't want to switch motherboards then just upgrade processor to the 8350. It's a good processor and runs games well. I have one sitting in a cabinet in my basement gathering dust because i wanted to go Intel for my high end build. Both of those things are bottlenecks but the processor more so.

Short Version: 8350 or die.

What do you mean by both of those things are bottlenecks?

an fx-6300 can play a lot of games 70-80fps. They do well. And for a new graphics card you can go with a
7870 which plays all my games at 60-120fps. I used to have a 7770 but i went up a notch to like bf3 and rust.

I mean that an fx-4100 and a 7770 are both not performance gaming parts. theyll work but if you only upgrade one then the other bottlenecks it. So really you should upgrade both.
