Hey guys as the title says can you please tell me which one among the two is better for solidworks or other 3D cad software. If you want to recommend another processor please look here http://dynaquestpc.com/product-category/components/proc... before you do so. I live in the Philippines so parts are hard to come by. Thanks for the help!

a Haswell i7 is going to be the best for exactly what you need if you can find one.

However if you can't then the FX 8350 is going to be better than the i5 since rendering is multi threaded hungry.

Oh aight, but since the i7 haswell processors are pretty expensive in my country, would you recommend going for an fx 8350 and r9 270x or an i7 4790k with a future discrete graphics card upgrade in mind?

I'd go with fx 8350/r9 270X combo, since 3d rendering does require a lot of gpu horsepower.

Would an i5 4690/R9 270x combo work just as well or would and 8350 produce noticeable speed differences?

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure, I'm sure that the fx 8350 will be faster but I don't think that much faster than an i5 4690.

However, if you got a i5 4690K and overclocked then yes it would be faster.

3d rendering may not use the gpu. Most renderers are cpu only. Solidworks and other cad do not come with gpu renderers so go with the fx. An oc i5 isn't going to win if you do a fair comparison, you compare it to an oc fx. The fx wins.
