Hiya mate.. Been holding on upgrading my desktop for a while now.. currently on q8200, with 2 gigs of ram and a gtx 660.. before we start, i knew that the gtx are not performing at full capacity right now, but i had to change because my last gtx 260 blew out..

what i want to ask is should i wait for haswell e one month from now, what with the ddr4 ram and so on, or just bite the bullet and go haswell now? my last build plan kinda looks like this:

i7 4771
asus z87
corsair 8 gb
using the previous gtx 660

budget is quite tight, but if the value is 4 to 5 years worth, i can gather up some bucks.. fyi, i use my pc mainly on gaming and love pushing every option to max.. really looking forward from u guys.. thanks before!

There's really no point in getting Haswell-E for gaming, go for an i7 4790k and a Z97 Motherboard.
Haswell-E is very expensive as a platform and DDR4 is rumored to have Latency Problems amd is 60% to 70% more expensive than DDR3

thanks for the reply mate! so ddr3 should be enough for about 4 to 5 years huh? looks like i will be getting haswell now then..

any suggestions of what the mb brand is? i always prefer asus in the past, but seeing some review in the web, it sure does kinda pricey with no added benefit than reliability.. so its either asus or gigabyte.. and do u have any preferred type of each brand?

I've never used Asus, but I've heard they're very reliable.
My Motherboard is a Gigabyte and I've never had any problems with them.
Both have their advantages but the Asus ROG board's are what I'd go for.
