im wondering what/wich graphics card/cards to get for my new gaming build. I can go with two 280x's in crossfire, two 770's in SLI or one 780 ti... wich would be the best for me? I am going to max out all settings and play at 1080p with a 144hz monitor. wich would give me the most for my system?

noise does not bother me and im gonna get a super air cooling optimised case

More about : 280x crossfire 770 sli 780

two gtx 770's are the best option :)  or getting the r9 295 would be the best.

But if you choose the 770 sli, i would recommend the 4Gb of vram over the 2 gb.
With upcoming games or unoptimized one's, you don't want to have a lot of processing power but not enough vram.

I'd just get the 780ti and avoid micro stuttering. It'll push things enough. Maybe not 144fps but close enough.

Can I go for one card with 4 gb and the other with 2? Or doesn't that work in SLI?...

I believe you can no longer use different RAM setups on SLI gpus.
Something about the program to do that no longer working with newest drivers.

I just have two msi 760 itx editions in sli and I love it, on 3d mark I get better than 94% of all results...

Go for a 780ti like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Currently $609/$619! I have the 2nd one and am above 93% on 3dmark fire strike and still get amazing performance for games that don't currently play nice with multi-gpus.

Check out this review for the PNY, just amazing:

Then get a 780 ti, it';ll get over 60fps on a 1080p, and that's when the 144hz comes in to make it look even better

Also wanted to warn anyone looking for a new GPU that 880 should be out in a month if you can wait as it should be a value/performance leader upon launch.

I have heard that rumor also but a lot of people believe with 3200+ cuda cores vs. The 780ti/titan black 2880 880 will yeild better performance than a 780ti.

If it 880 is:

A) Faster than 780ti it will most likely cost ~$600 and not the $450-$500 everyone is saying (I hope to be wrong) keeping 780ti at the same pricing because of custom cards/higher cost of manufacturing. Overall cost on 780ti will go down a little but companies like PNY/Zotac that are already the least expensive may not decrease any further.

B) Slower than 780ti it should then cost the $450-$500 with a hopeful price drop on 780 to $400.

C) Faster than 780ti and @~$500 would be amazing but I can't picture NVidia making a move like that when they don't have to and can continue to have an edge on AMD so they can charge more.

You're forgetting that new architecture means a few shortcuts on money.

I said I hope I'm wrong and I did mention 780ti has a higher cost of manufacturing. Just saying what I think is going to happen =)

The Kepler architecture IS expensive, since it DOES expel much power.
But I think the cost effective Maxwell will find a way to keep that power and cut back on some costs.

The 880 is between 780 and 780 ti, the new architecture will be able to cut back on costs and keep it below 500 dollars I'd say
