Hello community!

I am going to purchase and build a Mini ITX Rig for Triple monitor Gaming/Light Workstation use.

My Budget is around $3000 (£1800) and must include all 3 monitors and a Monitor Stand.

As a PC building enthusiast, My challenge is to try and create a Mini ITX Rig that can be used for Gaming and Light Workstation use over 3 Monitors at 5920x1080 but I am having trouble selecting a GPU for said Rig.

Im looking to hit (with Auto settings) around 30-40 FPS with drops at minimum 25 FPS using BattleField 4 and Cinebench as my Benchmark Applications.

So, here is the Rig:

Current Choice of GPU:
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
ASRock Z87E-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)
Triple Monitor Stand
AOC E2461FWH 23.6 inch Widescreen LED Monitor (16:9, 250 cd/m2, 1000:1, 2ms, HDMI) x 3

Bearing in mind that the aim of this build is to get some smooth gaming (at regular settings) and light workstation use out of an ITX build over 3 monitors at 5920x1080, I am not at all bothered about Ultra Maxed Settings @120 FPS gaming, just playable gaming @ 5920x1080.

Thanks Community!

Regards,

Will

Solution
Not really, most people would sli to get high or ultra settongs on 3 monitors, but you said you don't want ultra, so a 770 will be okay for your needs I'd say

So, If I were to upgrade to a GTX 780 would that improve performance at all?

Just for General information, what SLI would you recommend for 3 monitor gaming with a $3000 budget running at "Higher" settings?

Thanks,

Will

If you want to go amd, a crossfire r9 290x from sapphire, or a sli 780 from any aftermarkrt will be fine, the reason I recommend the sapphire is becuase they keep the temps lower and makes less noise than any other r9 290x, both problems which plagued many r9 290x stock cards, but for stability I prefer nvidia, personal preference, both options are the same price, if you decide to fo sli 780 route, wait till the 800 series come out as they will knock down the prices of 780's and you might also want to sli a 880 instead :)
