Hey folks, sorry to bother you all with this question, but im at a loss for what I need to do. The cpu cooling fan sputtered and died on me yesterday, and I'm looking to replace it. I've been googling the type and model, but I keep coming across these different versions of it, and honestly, I got no idea of what I'm doing, so I wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations of cpu fans I could get? I really don't want to replace the heatsink because ive never done that before, and ive heard that if you mess that up, you mess up the cpu too?

Anyways, thanks in advance for the help.

CPU Fan:

Cooler Master A7015-45RB-3AN-C1

DC12V 0.60A

DF0701512RFUN

E255988-CF Rifle

Heres my motherboard:

ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX / 960GM-S3 FX

CPU Socket: FSB 2600 MHz (5.2 GT/s)

Is any other information needed?

Rather replace the whole heatsink, not just the fan. Replacing heatsink is really easy, just unlock some locks on your motherboard and take out the cpu, then wipe off the remains of thermal paste and replace thermal paste. I've heard that the best cpu coolers are Noctua's and coolermasters, but first you need to look at dimensions and socket so it will fit on your motherboard.

this will do the job and should not make as much noise as the CM

plenty of other 70mm options out there besides the fan above

I would replace the whole fan.
Something like a CM Hyper 212 EVO is really powerful and really inexpensive. ;)

he can if he wants to but that wasn't his question. I own two of the 212+ coolers so i know how well they perform.

If your fan dies before 2 years, I would not reccommend getting it again, Im with LukaBoki, get a 212. It's been around for years in cooler terms for a reason. They just don't get any better at this price.
