i recently bought a 2.5 inch enclosure to recover my data from my laptop 500GB Seagate harddisk. But when i plug all the cable the Derive was not visible in "My Computer" window but computer gives a sound which it usually gives when you connect a USB device to it. And then after scratching my head for some time i came to know that , there is written at the back of the box of enclosure (very bad quality box) that "The maximum support capacity 120 GB" . So my question are :
1. does we have to consider the storage capacity of the Hard disk when buying a enclosure for it?
Can it be main root of the problem that i can't see any derive in my computer?
3. It's written on the hard disk that " DC +5V ---0.85A " (i assumes it means it required 0.85A) current to operate. But when i plugged in the enclosure and check out the properties of the respective USB port in Device Managar , then it shows the connected device required 2mA and The total power available 500mA per port. Is it creating any problem for me?
Thank you.
