Booting Issues With My SSD

So I recently got a new SSD (Samsung 840 Evo 250gb) and I set it up so that I would use the SSD as the boot drive and my HDD as storage only. I successfully did it...well sort of. I just installed Windows 7 and the necessary drivers on the SSD and started to use it like that. I didn't use any data migrations or anything like that, so I downloaded everything like Google Chrome, Steam, Skype, and other typical things I use on my PC. I thought I could just have all of my files on the HDD and just run it on the SSD, but I guess I couldn't configure it right.

I just gave up on trying to have the SSD and HDD setup and would like to only use the SSD as my boot drive and storage. 250gb is enough for what I do on my PC. And when I unplug my HDD and boot up my PC, I get a message saying "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." I checked my BIOS and my SSD is detected and plugged in. How would I go about fixing this?

If you loaded windows with both the ssd and the hdd installed, windows loaded boot files on both drives. Should only load windows with only one drive installed. Take the hdd out and then boot with your windows install disk and select the startup repair option. It will add the startup files to the SSD. Hopefully problem solved.

also like spooky said. Only one drive should be installed during installation of a os when having multiple drives. Like said the boot drives are on both and now both need to be in. you need to completly uninstall on the hdd and then reinstall with only the ssd in. the add the hdd and put all your big files on the hdd and all the games and things needing to be loaded up fast on the ssd.

yeah uninstall windows with both hdd and ssd in. then take out hdd. leave in ssd. take usb/dvd and plug in. load up, select the usb/dvd and then put the os on the ssd. after that bam its done. then just put the big files on the hdd when you plug it in AFTER you install the os.

Solution
I would take out the hdd and try to boot. Go into startup repair and it should fix the boot problems with the ssd. Then load all the MB drivers. After you get your comp running right, install the hdd into a different port and you should have access to it and all the files that were on it.

One way to get into startup repair is to boot with a windows install disk. Choose startup tepair.
