Accidentally Upgrading 64 Bit WIndows in 32 bit machine

Solution
You'd be hard pressed to find a couple these days that couldn't run a 64 bit OS. Your main problem is going to be if you intended to "upgrade" your OS, the old OS is completely incompatible with the new one so its going to make a new install from scratch. You should be able to find a Windows.old file that has all your old documents if you need them.

My Laptop is screwed, all that remains is a black screen, my mother tried to reinstall it from scratch but accidentally used a 64 bit disc. Is it possible to get the hard drive out of there and put the surviving documents on my other computer?

If it was installed from scratch then there are no "surviving documents" as a scratch install reformat's the drive (wipes the drive clean..) all you can do is try to boot the laptop with the proper windows disk in and let it install again..

And what do you mean they will not turn on? like at all I.E. no post screen (the first logo screen) or just not into windows?
