Hi,

I have just built a desktop and I am a student. In the day I will be using my laptop but when I get back to my room I will switch over to my desktop. I was wondering if there was any way to plug my laptop to my desktop and then have a constant sync between the files between both computers so that if I save a file on my desktop or laptop it will automatically be transferred (when connected) or updated on the other. Also I do not want to use ethernet because my desktop uses the one ethernet spot I have for the internet so that would not be possible (no wifi on desktop currently either).

Thanks in advance! :)

i use this software - http://www.2brightsparks.com/freeware/freeware-hub.html

you can configure it to do backups, synch and configure it how to handle conflicts in versions of documents.

on connecting the two computers - i would suggest picking up a cheap network switch - usually about $20. with that switch, you can share the same network cable on both computers.
