Hi All,
I just install my new CPU, below is the specifications:-
Asus Motherboard H87M-E
Intel Processor i7 4790S
Cooler Master PSU V550 Semi-Modular
Kingston RAM DDR3 8GB KVR16N11/8

I have connected all the power cables and etc. Once power up, I can see the CPU fan start spinning and the Motherboard LED is light on. But I do not see anything on the screen, not even a beep sound. I tried with another working RAM but still the same. I checked on the Asus website and found out for my new processor, I need BIOS version 0904 or newer. I checked on the Motherboard and it state the REV. is 1.03. Is that means the motherboard BIOS version is 1003 and it is actually newer than 904 that is suggested?

Thanks for helping guys.

The LED light is on and I don't see any power button on the board. I am still finding a way to upgrade the to the latest BIOS since I cannot even power up my CPU.

Hi caroliveira003

My issue was solved. I brought my motherboard back to the Asus service center, the guy told me that the firmware and BIOS version for this motherboard will need to be updated. He tried upgrade BIOS alone for me since it will not need any OS, just a USB pendrive, but it is not working. He told me to bring to where I purchased this MoBo and asked them to upgrade the firmware for me.

Upgrade firmware will require OS to be installed, so a functional CPU is required, not just CPU and Mobo. So, you might need to get help from others, unless you have an older version of CPU with you.

A usb flash drive will only work if the mobo supports USB BIOS flashback. Yours doesnt support it.

USB BIOS flashback can flash a BIOS with just a PSU. You dont need the CPU

Yours does support flashing from a flash drive like mine. BUT, you would have to get into the BIOS to do it with ez flash
