My PC runs XP with Firefox as browser. I use a NetComm router and a wifi connection because it is positioned too far away to use ethernet cable. The connection is strong but am unable to access the internet. Two other laptops in the house using Win7 have no problem using same router.

Solution
You may wish to check your ip address and the ip addresses of the computers in the room. Go into CMD prompt and type in ipconfig on each individual computer. If you have a 169 ip address yours is a temp address and you need to obtain a new one (I.E. --hardwire in and update your wireless drivers).

Other potential problem: You may have the same IP address as someone else on your router. If that is the case then you will have to manually reset your ip address which is pretty simple to do. Just look up on one of the other computers how to reset your IP address and do it on there.

If neither of those are the case I'm sorry I couldn't help.
