I have an EVGA GTX 570 2.5GB. I tried to overclock it with MSI Afterburner but it just crashes with the slightest change.

Stock clocks:
Core Voltage: 988
Core Clock: 732
Memory clock: 1900

I turned the core clock up to 742 and started to play an intensive game. After about 3 minutes my computer crashed, I was monitoring the temps and it never got over 76 c. My power supply is 650 watts and that should be more than enough so what's wrong?

Do you have the latest driver for the card? Have you used other programs? Precision X is a good program as well. This is in no way trying to offend you, but do you know how to overclock? Also try turning up the voltage as well.

My drivers are up to date, I have tried precision X (Same results.), and yes I do know how to overclock. I raised the voltage to 1000 and still the same result. Should I increase it more? Have I increased it too much?

You also increased the the memory clock right? You should increase your voltage a bit more and see if it helps. If that doesn't help, the only thing I can think of is that your computer has a setting for power efficiency and is keeping the power away from the whole system.

No, I did not increase the memory clock. It's better to do the core clock and memory clock separate. There is a power setting in my motherboards bios. I change it then click save and restart but it always goes back to its original setting. I have an Asus P99 FX pro. Or at least I think that's what it is.

Have you checked to see if it has any switch on the motherboard about power savings? I tried to look up your motherboard but couldn't find it.

It's the M5A99FX PRO R2.0.
